Dr. Peter Tichatzky, from 1990 to 1999 an active BPP member expertizing DDR, nowadays senior member of the BPP was awarded the “Kalckhoff Medal”, sponsored by the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten, for his extensive literary work.

On the occasion of SÜDWEST 2016, the BDPh awarded Jörg Maier, the long-time BPP examiner for Chile, his Golden Badge of Merit for his services to German philately. Chile-Maier “, as he is affectionately called by friends, worked as a lawyer for many years as a senior civil servant in Munich. Today, the 75-year-old dedicates himself very intensively to philately and in particular to his work as an examiner and jury member. His own exhibits were often awarded the highest prizes.
